1 Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using DiaCodex you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2 Description of Service
DiaCodex is a personal diabetes management tool that helps you:
- Log meals and calculate carbohydrates and Fat-Protein Units (FPU)
- Track insulin doses, medications, and diabetes device changes
- Set custom reminders for equipment changes and medication
- Generate nutrition and activity reports
- Identify foods using AI-powered photo recognition
DiaCodex is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device.
3 Medical Disclaimer
4 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use DiaCodex independently. If you are under 16, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account on your behalf.
By using the app you represent and warrant that you meet the age requirement or that a parent/guardian has consented on your behalf.
5 Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account.
- You must not share your account with others.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately at contact@diacodex.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
6 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, national, or international law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise tamper with the app
- Upload or transmit content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Misuse, abuse, or attempt to circumvent our subscription or payment systems
- Use automated scripts or bots to access or scrape the app
- Interfere with or disrupt the app's servers, networks, or infrastructure
7 Subscription and Payments
DiaCodex offers a free tier with advertisements and a Premium subscription that removes ads and unlocks additional features.
- Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your store's subscription settings at any time.
- We do not offer refunds except as required by applicable consumer protection law.
8 AI Features
The AI food recognition feature uses Google's Gemini AI. By using this feature you agree that:
- Food photos are transmitted to Google's servers for processing.
- AI-generated nutritional estimates may not always be accurate and should be verified independently.
- We are not liable for health decisions made based on AI-generated content.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how food photo data is handled.
9 Data and Privacy
Your use of DiaCodex is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the app you agree to the data practices described in that policy.
10 Intellectual Property
DiaCodex and all its content — including design, source code, branding, text, and graphics — are owned by Jorge de Lorenzo Barroso and are protected by intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the app without our prior written consent.
11 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DiaCodex and its developer shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Any medical harm, adverse health outcome, or clinical error arising from use or misuse of the app
- Data loss or corruption resulting from technical failures
- Inaccurate nutritional data from third-party databases
- Service interruptions or downtime
In jurisdictions where liability limitations are not permitted, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
12 Service Changes and Termination
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of DiaCodex at any time, with or without notice
- Terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms
We will provide reasonable prior notice of significant service changes where possible. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app.
13 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.
14 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Your continued use of DiaCodex after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
